摘要:
Boronic acid affinity gels are important for effective separation of biological active cis-diols, and are finding applications both in biotech industry and in biomedical research areas. To increase the efficacy of boronate affinity separation, it is interesting to introduce repeating boronic acid units in flexible polymer chains attached on solid materials. In this work, we synthesize polymer brushes containing boronic acid repeating units on silica gels using surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). A fluorescent boronic acid monomer is first prepared from an azide-tagged fluorogenic boronic acid and an alkyne-containing acrylate by Cu(I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction (the CuAAC click chemistry). The boronic acid monomer is then grafted to the surface of silica gel modified with an ATRP initiator. The obtained composite material contains boronic acid polymer brushes on surface and shows favorable saccharide binding capability under physiological pH conditions, and displays interesting fluorescence intensity change upon binding fructose and glucose. In addition to saccharide binding, the flexible polymer brushes on silica also enable fast separation of a model glycoprotein based on selective boronate affinity interaction. The synthetic approach and the composite functional material developed in this work should open new opportunities for high efficiency detection, separation, and analysis of not only simple saccharides, but also glycopeptides and large glycoproteins. © 2014 American Chemical Society.

摘要:
A reliable sensor was fabricated by modifying an acetylene black paste electrode with graphene (denoted as GR/ABPE) for sensitive and selective determination of tryptophan (Trp). Due to the high sorption ability, large surface area and numerous active sites, the GR/ABPE showed a strong enhancement effect on the oxidation of Trp, and greatly increased the peak current. The parameters affecting the Trp determination were investigated. In 1.0 M H <inf>2</inf>SO<inf>4</inf> the voltammetric responses of Trp and tyrosine (Tyr) were well separated into two distinct peaks with peak potential difference (ΔE<inf>pa</inf>) of 115 mV. Under the optimized conditions, in the presence of 0.1 mM Tyr, the oxidation peak current of Trp was proportional to its concentration in the range between 0.1 μM and 0.1 mM, with the limit of detection of 60 nM (S/N = 3). The GR/ABPE was applied to the direct detection of Trp in pharmaceutical and biological samples with satisfactory results. This work provides a simple and easy approach to selective detection of Trp in the presence of Tyr. ©2013 Elsevier B.V.

The two-dimensional (2D) molecular imprinting approach has attracted extensive research interest in recent years due to its potential advantages such as simple construction, fast template removal and rapid mass transfer. In this study, a new 2D imprinting approach based on the combination of mesoporous silica materials and molecular imprinting technology is reported. 2D molecularly imprinted materials (MIMs) for cholesterol were prepared by using cholesterol as the template, azide modified β-cyclodextrin (azide-β-CD) as the functional monomer and alkynyl-modified SBA-15 (alkyne-SBA-15) as the skeleton. In this method, azide-β-CD molecules were first assembled around the templates by formation of template-monomer complexes, and thus the mutual positions of azide-β-CD molecules were fixed. Then, azide-β-CD molecules were anchored to the walls of the nano-pores of SBA-15 via click chemistry. After removal of the template molecules, the resulting cavities, i.e., recognition sites were formed in the nano-pores of mesoporous silicas. The synthesized MIM was characterized by FT-IR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), elemental analysis (EA), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and so on. Binding kinetic experiments demonstrated that the 2D imprinting approach can improve site accessibility for the template effectively. The 2D MIM exhibited binding affinity and specificity for the template, as revealed by equilibrium binding experiments. When using MIM as a stationary phase for HPLC, baseline separation of cholesterol from other compounds can be achieved. In addition, the use of 2D imprinting significantly reduced the peak broadening and tailing. This journal is ©The Royal Society of Chemistry.

摘要:
We describe a simple and sensitive voltammetric method for the simultaneous determination of 2-nitrophenol and 4-nitrophenol. It is based on the use of an acetylene black paste electrode modified with a graphene-chitosan composite film (denoted as Gr-Chit/ABPE). The reduction peak currents of 2-nitrophenol (at -252 mV) and of 4-nitrophenol (at -340 mV) in pH 1.0 solution increase significantly at the Gr-Chit/ABPE in comparison to a bare ABPE. Factors affecting sensitivity were optimized and a linear relationship is found between peak current and the concentrations of 2-nitrophenol (in the 0.4 μM to 80 μM range) and for 4-nitrophenol (in the 0.1 μM to 80 μM range). The detection limits (at an SNR of 3 and after a 30-s accumulation time) are 200 nM for 2-nitrophenol and 80 nM for 4-nitrophenol, respectively. The modified electrode was successfully applied to the direct and parallel determination of 2-nitrophenol and 4-nitrophenol in spiked water samples. 摘要:
This paper reports a new strategy for the preparation of molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based composite materials with double recognition abilities through the exploitation of click chemistry. Combining the inherent molecular recognition ability of MIPs and the affinity binding ability of boronic acid ligands for saccharides, a boronic acid-attached MIP with double recognition abilities was prepared. An alkyne modified 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) imprinted polymer was first synthesized using a two-stage precipitation polymerization. An azide-contained boronic acid was then linked to the clickable 2,4-D imprinted polymers through copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). The boronic acid-attached MIPs displayed recognition ability for 2,4-D and affinity binding ability for saccharides at physiological pH. The intensity of fluorescence emission of the boronic acid-attached MIPs was found to increase when increasing amounts of a cis-diol compound (i.e., fructose) were added. ©The Royal Society of Chemistry 2013.

摘要:
A mixed-ligand copper(II) complex ((4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine- k3,N',N'') (1,1'-phenanthroline-k2N,N')-copper(II) bis(perchlorate)) has been synthesized. Binding interactions of the complex with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) were investigated by UV-visible and CD spectroscopies. Results show that the copper complex mainly adopt electrostatic attraction binding mode with DNA and the binding constant is (3.22 ± 0.05) × 103 mol-1 L. The complex shows appreciable chemical nuclease activity in the presence of ascorbic acid. The DNA cleavage by the complex were inhibited strongly in the presence of DMSO and tert-butyl alcohol, which suggests that hydroxyl radicals are reactive oxygen species for the cleavage.

In this paper, the simultaneous voltammetric determination of ascorbic acid (AA) and rutin (Ru) has been achieved at an acetylene black paste electrode modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes-chitosan composite film (denoted as MWCNTs-CHIT/ABPE). Compared with bare electrode, the peak currents of AA and Ru at MWCNTs-CHIT/ABPE increased greatly and the anodic peak potential difference (Delta E-pa) between AA and Ru are up to 342 mV, which is undoubtedly attributed to the unique characteristics of AB and MWCNTs such as excellent electric conductivity, high surface area and strong adsorptive abilities, resulting in higher accumulation efficiency to AA and Ru. The influences of some experimental conditions on the oxidation of AA and Ru were tested and the calibration plot was examined. Under the optimized condition, a good linearity was obtained in the concentration range of 1 mu M-0.4 mM for AA in the presence of 10 mu M Ru and 20 nM-10 mu M for Ru in the presence of 1 mM AA. The detection limits (S/N=3) of AA and Ru are 0.8 mu M and 10 nM, respectively. A deltamethrin-imprinted polymer (MIP<inf>1</inf>) was prepared using bis(-6-O-butanediacid monoester)-β-cyclodextrin (BBA-β-CD) as the functional monomer and toluene 2,4-diisocyanate (TDI) as the cross-linker. In comparison to the molecularly imprinted polymer where β-CD was applied as the functional monomer (MIP<inf>2</inf>), MIP<inf>1</inf> showed a higher specific binding capacity (ΔC<inf>P</inf>) and an improved imprinting factor (IF) for deltamethrin. The selective recognition experiments demonstrated that compared to MIP<inf>2</inf>, MIP<inf>1</inf> could better recognize its template over other substrates that had similar chemical structures. The solid phase extraction (SPE) of deltamethrin using MIP<inf>1</inf> as the adsorbent was further investigated. The recoveries of themolecularly imprinted solid phase extraction (MISPE) column for deltamethrin were 83.2-93.4% with relative standard deviations (RSD) of 2.03-6.19%. The method has been successfully applied to the enrichment of trace deltamethrin from real water samples. ©Taylor &Francis Group, LLC.
