A complex [Cu(2,2'-bipy)( BAA)][Cu(2,2'-bipy)( BAA)(H2O)](2)center dot(H2O)(3) (BAA=benzilic acid anion, 2,2'-bipy=2,2'-bipyridine) has been synthesized. Crystal data for this complex are as follows: triclinic, space group P1, a=1.121 7(5) nm, b=1.360 2(6) nm, c=2.335 2(10) nm, alpha=99.260(6)degrees, beta=101.223(8)degrees, gamma=94.805(8)degrees, V=3.425(3) nm(3), D-c=1.385 g.cm(-3), Z=6, mu(Mo K alpha)=0.992 mm(-1), F(000)=1 474, final discrepancy factors R-1=0.056 1, wR(2)=0.112 8. There are three mononuclear copper(II) complexes in one asymmetric unit of the compound, where the three central Cu(II) ions are not all of the same coordination number. Cu(1) ion is tetra-coordinated, while Cu(2) ion and Cu(3) ion are both penta-coordinated. The cyclic voltammetric behavior and fluorescent property of the title compound were investigated. The results show that the electron transfer in the electrode reaction of the title complex is irreversible, and two electrons are involved in the oxidation of the title complex. When the exciting radiation setting at 478 nm, the title complex can give off fluorescent emission. CCDC: 788067.

One dinuclear manganese(II) complex [Mn_2(C_(12)H _8N_2)_4(C_8H_5O_4)_2](C_8H_4O_4)·EH_2O has been synthesized with o-phthalic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline. The crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to the triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 1.17767(3), b = 1.22292(2), c = 1.35860(3) nm, α = 110.5300(10), β = 97.6140(10), γ = 93.7300(10)°, V = 1.80307(7) nm~3, D_c = 1.404 g/cm~3, Z = 2, F(000) = 784, the final GOOF = 1.047, R = 0.0398 and wR = 0.1038. The crystal structure of the title complex consists of one [Mn_2(C_(12)H_8N_2)_4(C _8H_5O_4)_2]~(2+) cation, one uncoordinate o-phthalate anion (C_8H_4O_4) ~(2-) and one uncoordinate water molecule. In [Mn_2(C_(12)H_8N_2)_4(C_8H_5O_4)_2]~(2+), the central Mn(II) ion is coordinated by four nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms to give a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The electrochemical property of the title complex was also studied.

The nickel complex{Ni(2,2-bipy)(H_2O)_3[C_8H_(11)O_2(COO)]}(H_2O)3 with bicycle[2.2.1]-2-hepten-5,6-dicarboxylic acid[C7H8(COOH)2]and 2,2'-bipyridine(bipy)as ligands has been synthesized and characterized.It crystallizes in monoclinic,space group P1,with a= 0.74975(3),b=1.20309(4),c=1.30593(4)nm,α=109.861(2),β=98.519(2),γ=90.575(2)o,V= 1.09337(7)nm~3,Dc=1.552 g/cm~3,Z=2,F(000)=524,the final GOOF=1.064,R=0.0397 and wR=0.1171.The crystal structure shows that the nickel ion is coordinated with four oxygen atoms from one bicycle[2.2.1]-2-hepten-5,6-dicarboxylic acid molecule and three water molecules and two nitrogen atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine molecule,forming a distorted octahedral coordination geometry.The result of TG analysis shows that the title complex is stable under 200.0℃.

One novel binuclear copper(Ⅱ) complex [Cu 2 (Hpt) 2 (CO 3) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]·H 2 O with copper carbonate and 3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (Hpt) was hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR and X-ray diffraction analysis.The complex crystallizes in triclinic,space group P2 1 /n with a=0.6862(1),b=0.7805(1),c=1.1983(2) nm,α=72.03(2),β=107.72(3),γ=75.28(2)o,V=0.5884 nm 3,D c=2.105 g/cm 3,Z=1,F(000)=357,GOOF=1.041,the final R=0.01859 and wR=0.04348.The whole molecule is composed of two cooper ions,two Hpt molecules,two carbonate and three water molecules,forming a binuclear structure.The crystal structure shows that the cooper ion is coordinated with three nitrogen atoms from two Hpt molecules,two oxygen atoms from one carbonic acid and one water molecule,forming a distorted square pyramidal geometry.The TG analysis result shows that the title complex is stable under 131.0 ℃.

The title complex has been synthesized with 2,2.-biphenyl dicarboxylic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in the solvent mixture of water and methanol. It crystallizes (C_(38)H_(28)CuN_4O_6, M _r = 700.1) in triclinic, space group P1 with a = 1.0868(2), b = 1.2175(2), c = 1.6206(3) nm, α = 110.161(2), β = 102.605(3), γ = 93.667(2)°, V = 1941.6(6) nm~3, Dc = 1.198 g/cm ~3, Z = 2, F(000) = 722, R = 0.0558 and wR = 0.1208. The crystal structure shows that the copper atom is coordinated with one oxygen atom from 2,2.-bphenyl dicarboxylic acid molecule and four nitrogen atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline molecules, forming a distorted square-pyramidal coordination. The TG analysis shows that the title complex is stable under 160.0 °C.

The complex [Tb2(ClC6H4COO) 6(2,2′-bipy)2] (ClC6H4COOH) -(H2O)with m-chlorobenzoic acid and 2,2′-bipy-ridine as ligands has been synthesized by means of hydrothermal way. Crystal data for this complex are as follows: monoclinic, space group P1̄, a=1.143 9(4) nm, b = 1.211 6(4) nm, c=1.419 9(5) nm, α=103.600(6)°, β=95.382(3)°, γ= 99.506(4)°, V=1.868 4(10) nm3, Dc=1.692 g-cm-3, Z=2μ(Mo Kα)=2.236 mm-1, F(000)=943, final discrepancy factors Ri=0.052 0, wR2=0.l 18 6. In the crystal, two neighboring Tb(III) ions are bridged by four m-chlorobenzoic acid anions, and their end positions coordinate with one 2,2′-bipyridine molecule and one m-chlorobenzoic acid anions, respectively, giving a binuclear cage structure, of which the spacing between Tb(III)---Tb(III) is 0.408 1 nm. Each Tb(III) ion coordinates with two nitrogen atoms and six oxygen atoms, giving an eight-coordinated distorted square antiprism geometry. The luminescent property of the complex is also studied. One new complex Cd2(2,4-DAA)4(2,2′-bipy) 2 with 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-DAA) and 2,2′ - bipyridine (2,2′-bipy) as ligands has been synthesized and characterized. Crystal data for this complex are as follows: monoclinic, space group P1̄, α= 1.049 9(2) nm, 6 = 1.094 2(2) nm, c = 1.185 7(2) nm, α=96.70(3)°, β=105.20(3)°, γ= 91.75(3)°, V=1.303 0(5) nm3, Dc= 1.806 g · cm-3, Z=2, μ(Mo K α)=1.295 mm-1, F(000)=704, final discrepancy factors R1 =0.042 1, wR2 = 0.102 1. In the crystal, two neighboring Cd(II) ions are bridged by four 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic radicals, and their end positions are coordinated with two 2,2′-bipyridine molecules, forming a binuclear cage structure. The coordination environment of each cadmium (II) ion is CdO4 N2, giving a distorted triprism coordination geometry. Luminescent property and the cyclic voltammetric behavior of the complex were investigated.
