The overseas study has made much progress in the compilation and application of multimodal corpora. However, upto now, some limitations of previous studies should be pointed out, namely, the unnatural way of data-collection, the lack ofgeneral coding schemes, the relatively small size of corpora, the incompatibility of annotation formats and subjective annota-tion.
