The title heteronuclear complex, {[AgHo(C14H8N 2O5)2(H2O)]·2H 2O}n, has a three-dimensional polymeric structure, generated by the carboxylate and pyridine groups of the 5-(isonicotinamido) isophthalate (INAIP) ligands bridging the metal atoms. The HoIII atom is coordinated by seven O atoms from INAIP ligands and a water molecule in a distorted square-antiprismatic geometry, while the AgI atom has a distorted trigonal-planar AgN2O geometry.
