One novel coordination polymer {[Co(4,4'-bipy)(C9H8O3N)(2)](H2O)(4)}(n) with p-acetamidobenzoic acid and 4,4' -bipy has been synthesized. It was characterized as crystallizing in the triclinic space group P (1) over bar, with: a=1.138 1(2) nm, b=1.165 2(2) nm, c=1.223 3(2) nm, alpha=88.47(3)degrees, gamma=88.00(3)degrees, gamma=65.78(3)degrees, V=1.4784(4) nm(3), D-c=1.446 g.cm(-3), Z=1, F(000)=670.
