To Establish a Protection System for 'China's Famous Villages of Historic and Cultural Interest

在世界幸存的各类历史文化遗产中，当代中国古村落占有十分重要的地位。中国古村落数量多，分布广，历史文化价值高，享有“传统文化的明珠”、“民间收藏的国宝”等美誉。然而，中国古村落保护的现状却令人堪忧。选择和确认一批具有代表价值的古村落，以“中国历史文化名村”的形式予以及时抢救和重点保护，是保护人类文化遗产的迫切需要。本文全面论述了建立“中国历史文化名村”保护制度的构想，对历史文化名村的确认条件、保护内容、原则、方式、措施及开发方向等作了具体的分析，对古村落文化与景观的有效保护，必将起到积极的推进作用

Abstract In the historical and cultural legacies of the world, China's ancient villages occupy an important place. Because of their large number, wide distribution and high historical value, they have been refered to as 'pearls of traditional culture' and 'national treasures of folk collection'. The present situation of their preservation, however, is far from satisfactory. It is, therefore, quite urgent to select and decide on a number of representative ancient villages for immediate rescue and special protection as 'China's famous villages of historic and cultural interest'.
