简要介绍了机器翻译及其发展历史,从词义选择、短语识别、歧义消解、句法结构处理、文化因素等方面分析了机器翻译存在的问题.进而提出机器翻译必须与人工翻译相结合才能译出好的作品;机器翻译软件的改进必须有翻译家和语言学家等专业人员的参与,才能开发出更加人性化的机器翻译软件.

This paper has made an analysis about MT problems with regard of the following aspects after introducing briefly the machine translation and its history: the choice of lexical meaning, phrase identification, disambiguation, syntactic disposition and culture.
