Roger T. Ames is a preeminent scholar and translator of classical Chinese philosophy. Through his interpretive studies and translations, he has probably done more than anyone else to promote literacy on Chinese philosophy in the English-speaking world. His translations are widely appreciated by the readers who are interested in Chinese philosophy. For example, his translation of Sun-Tzu: the Art of Warfare is used at West Point as a textbook.
