士族是南朝学术文化主体,引领着学术发展的方向。他们虽以经学传世,但并不拘泥于经艺一道,而是将眼光投向了其他的文化领域,因而其兴趣爱好是广泛的。当儒、道、文、史、佛五学成为时代的主流学术文化之后,他们凭着自己的家学特长和文化积累,以一种开放的心态,投入其中,或专攻五经中的一经,五学中的一学,或融数经数学于一体,进行全面研究,因而其治学内容是丰富的。他们重博学,重抄书,重积累,重著述,善躬行,会实用,故其治学方法也是多样的。南朝士族治学中广泛性、丰富性与多样性的完美结合,推动了南朝学术文化的继承与创新。

Shizu which is the main body of academic culture in the Southern Dynasty navigates the academic development. They inherit the study of Confucian classics, but they broaden their academic horizon to the other cuhural realms, which enable them to enjoy a wide range of interests. When Confucianism, Taoism, Literature, History and Buddhism become the mainstream of the academic culture, they, by their family academic characteristics and cultural accumulation, engage themselves in scholar research.
