A direct fluorescent photometric method is discussed for the determination of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) based on the fluorometric quenching effect of fluorescein (HFIn). The results indicate that in the buffer solution of NaAc-HAc at pH 6.00, the HFIn-DBP fluorescent complex has maximum excitation at 487 nm, and maximum emission at 532 nm,and the fluorescence intensity is proportional to the amount of DBP in the range of 0.2-8.0 mg/L, with detection limits of 0. 092 mg/L. The pro- posed method has also been applied to the determ...
