摘要:
The initial boundary value problem for a viscoelastic equation with nonlinear damping in a bounded domain is considered. By modifying the method, which is put forward by Li, Tasi and Vitillaro, we sententiously proved that, under certain conditions, any solution blows up in finite time. The estimates of the life-span of solutions are also given. We generalize some earlier results concerning this equation.

摘要:
The chaotic dynamics of a Duffing oscillator with a parametric force is investigated. By using the direct perturbation technique, we analytically obtain the general solution of the 1st-order equation. Through the boundedness condition of the general solution we get the famous Melnikov function predicting the onset of chaos. When the parametric and external forces are strong, numerical simulations show that increasing the amplitude of the parametric or external force can lead the system into chaos via period doubling.

摘要:
The chaotic dynamics of fractional order systems have attracted much attentions recently. In this Letter, we study the synchronization of the fractional order chaotic systems with a unidirectional linear error feedback coupling. The numerical results show that the fractional order chaotic systems can also be synchronized. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

摘要:
In this paper, oscillatory properties for solutions of the systems of certain quasilinear impulsive delay hyperbolic equations with nonlinear diffusion coefficient are investigated. A sufficient criterion for oscillations of such systems is obtained.

摘要:
A three-dimensional off-lattice protein model with two species of monomers, hydrophobic and hydrophilic, is studied. Enlightened by the law of reciprocity among things in the physical world, a heuristic quasi-physical algorithm for the protein structure prediction problem is put forward. First, by elaborately simulating the movement of the smooth elastic balls in the physical world, the algorithm finds low energy configurations for a given monomer chain. An “off-trap” strategy is then proposed to get out of local minima. Experimental results show promising performance. For all chains with lengths 13≤n≤55, the proposed algorithm finds states with lower energy than the putative ground states reported in the literature. Furthermore, for chain lengths n=21, 34, and 55, the algorithm finds new low energy configurations different from those given in the literature.

摘要:
In this paper, we proved the even order nonlinear neutral delay differential equation [x(t) - p(t)g(x(t - τ))](n) = q(t)h(x(t - σ)) has the same oscillatory character as its linearized equation [x(t) -pox(t - τ)](n) = qox(t - σ) under some rather relaxed conditions on g(u) and h(u), where po = limt →-∞ p(t), go = limt → ∞ q(t).

In this paper, we study an off-lattice protein AB model with two species of monomers, hydrophobic and hydrophilic, and present a heuristic quasi-physical algorithm. First, by elaborately simulating the movement of the smooth solids in the physical world, we find low-energy conformations for a given monomer chain. A subsequent off-trap strategy is then proposed to trigger a jump for a stuck situation in order to get out of the local minima. The algorithm has been tested in the three-dimensional AB model for all sequences with lengths of 13-55 monomers. In several cases, we renew the putative ground state energy values. The numerical results show that the proposed methods are very promising for finding the ground states of proteins.

Let {Xn, n≥1} be a martingale difference sequence and {a nk , 1?k?n,n?1} an array of constant real numbers. The limiting behavior of weighted partial sums ∑ k=1 n a nk X k is investigated and some new results are obtained.
