Precise identification of graphene layers at the air-prism interface via a pseudo-Brewster angle

摘要:
We propose a simple method for the precise identification of graphene layers at the air-prism interface via a pseudo-Brewster angle, where the horizontally polarized reflection is close to zero. We find that the pseudo-Brewster angle is sensitive to the variation of graphene layers where the pseudo-Brewster angle is approximately linearly increased about 0.5 deg as the layer numbers increased. Furthermore, the sensitivity of the pseudo-Brewster angle can be greatly enhanced and reaches 0.04 deg by eliminating the influence of the cross-polarization effect. Our scheme can provide a simple and effective method to identify the layer numbers of graphene. ©2017 Optical Society of America.

摘要:
High-efficiency video coding (HEVC) can greatly improve coding efficiency compared with the prior video coding standard H.264/AVC by adopting advanced hierarchical coding structures such as coding unit (CU), prediction unit (PU), and transform unit. For each CU, an exhaustive mode decision strategy is adopted to achieve the best rate distortion (RD) cost, which simultaneously results in enormous computational complexity. In this paper, an early SKIP mode decision algorithm is proposed for the HEVC encoder to speed up the process of mode decision. Each CU size is categorized into either rare used or frequent used by exploiting the correlation of CU depth, which is estimated from the temporally colocated CUs. For the rare-used CU size, the SKIP mode is directly selected as the optimal mode and the remaining mode decision process is early terminated. For the frequent-used CU size, a unimodal stopping model is designed for its early SKIP mode decision by exploiting both hierarchical mode structure and RD cost property. Experimental results show that the proposed early SKIP mode decision method achieves average 58.5% and 54.8% encoding time savings, while the Bjontegaard Delta bit rate only increases average 0.8% and 0.8% for various test sequences under the random access and the low delay B conditions, respectively. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

摘要:
The discharge characteristics and temporal nonlinear behaviors of the atmospheric pressure coaxial electrode dielectric barrier discharges are studied by using a one-dimensional fluid model. It is shown that the discharge is always asymmetrical between the positive pulses and negative pulses. The gas gap severely affects this asymmetry. But it is hard to acquire a symmetrical discharge by changing the gas gap. This asymmetry is proportional to the asymmetric extent of electrode structure, namely the ratio of the outer electrode radius to the inner electrode radius. When this ratio is close to unity, a symmetrical discharge can be obtained. With the increase of frequency, the discharge can exhibit a series of nonlinear behaviors such as period-doubling bifurcation, secondary bifurcation and chaotic phenomena. In the period-doubling bifurcation sequence the period-n discharge becomes more and more unstable with the increase of n. The period-doubling bifurcation can also be obtained by altering the discharge gas gap. The mechanisms of two bifurcations are further studied. It is found that the residual quasineutral plasma from the previous discharges and corresponding electric field distribution can weaken the subsequent discharge, and leads to the occurrence of bifurcation.

摘要:
We report direct measurements of the Pancharatnam–Berry (PB) phase in mode transformations on a hybrid-order Poincaré sphere. This geometric phase arises when the vector vortex states undergo a cyclic transformation over a closed circuit on a hybrid-order Poincaré sphere. The measured PB phase is proportional to the solid angle of the closed circuit, as well as to the variation of the total angular momenta between north and south poles. More importantly, a zero PB phase has been demonstrated, despite the vector vortex states taken through a closed circuit on the hybrid-order Poincaré sphere. This interesting phenomenon can be explained as being due to the zero Berry curvature. © 2017 Optical Society of America.

摘要:
Flexible quantum dot light emitting diodes (QLEDs) are highly desired due to their advantages of foldability, lightweight, and potential applications in lighting and displays. In this report, we successfully fabricated high performance red (R), green (G), and blue (B) three primary color QLEDs based on a poly(ethylene-terephthalate)/ITO/Ag/ITO (PET-IAI) cathode. The multilayer flexible IAI electrode shows outstanding stability even after bending over 2000 times with a critical bending radius of 5 mm;the sheet resistance of the IAI film only increases from 12.7 to 14.8 Ω□<sup>-1</sup>. The maximum current efficiencies are 16.3, 86.5, and 16.1 cd A<sup>-1</sup>for RGB QLEDs, respectively, which is the best device performance for flexible RGB QLEDs reported to date. Moreover, to the best of our knowledge, these are also record efficiencies for the green and blue devices in all the reported QLEDs. Furthermore, all the devices show saturated electroluminescence (EL) with the corresponding emission peaks at 606, 530, and 478 nm for three primary color QLEDs. The superior performance is a result of high transmittance and stability of the PET-IAI film. These results signify remarkable progress in flexible QLEDs and suggest that the PET-IAI based flexible QLEDs can offer a practicable platform for foldable applications. ©2017 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

摘要:
A chaotic model for generating multi-directional multi-scroll attractors via hyperbolic tangent function series is proposed in this paper. The dynamical mechanisms of this chaotic model are further investigated, including M-scroll, MxN-grid scroll, MxNxL-grid scroll chaotic attractors. Moreover, the dynamical behaviors of this system are theoretically analyzed and numerically simulated, such as equilibria and their stability,.Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation diagrams. 摘要:
An intermediate connector of Cs2CO3/Al/MoO3 used in tandem organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) was investigated in this work. Here, an ultrathin Cs2CO3/Al was used as an electron-injection layer (EIL) from MoO3 to the adjacent electron transporting layer (ETL). To verify the function of this intermediate connector, the device performances were evaluated through current density-voltage-luminance characteristics, current density-efficiency curves, and EL spectra. Additionally, the effect of photon energy on carriers behavior in the Cs2CO3/Al/MoO3 connector is also estimated. The electrical properties and EL spectra of tandem OLEDs show that the Cs2CO3/Al/MoO3 can function well for charge generation and transport, and the current density-voltage curves of Cs2CO3/Al/MoO3 based special multilayer device shows the photovoltaic effect as a photovoltaic cell.

摘要:
Multi-view video coding (MVC) adopts variable size mode decision to achieve high coding efficiency. However, its high computational complexity is a bottleneck of enabling MVC into practical real-time applications. In this paper, an early termination strategy is proposed for DIRECT mode decision of MVC by exploiting mode homogeneity and rate distortion (RD) cost correlation. By comparing the RD cost between DIRECT mode and Inter $16\times 16$ mode, an adaptive threshold is defined based on the MB's mode homogeneity and RD cost so as to early terminate the remaining inter and intra modes. Experimental results show that compared with the original JMVC model, the proposed approach can reduce the total encoding time from 65.08% to 91.45% (80.43% on average). Meanwhile, the Bjontegaard delta peak signal-to-noise ratio only decreases 0.031 dB and Bjontegaard delta bit rate increases 0.97% on average, which is a negligible loss of coding efficiency and superior to the performance of state-of-the-art methods. © 1963-12012 IEEE.

摘要:
By using nonequilibrium Green's functions in combination with the density functional theory, we investigate the transport properties of the supramolecular spin valves made of ferrocene and pristine (p-type or n-type) graphene nanoribbons. The results show that ferrocene adsorption on pristine graphene nanoribbons gives rise to perfect magnetoresistive effect. While for ferrocene adsorption on p-type graphene nanoribbons, the perfect magnetoresistive effect disappears but a high-efficiency spin-filtering effect can be observed. More interestingly, the ferrocene adsorption on n-type graphene nanoribbons bring about the disappearance of spin polarization effect, and thus spin-filtering and magnetoresistive effect cannot be observed. Our researches also confirm that the doping type of graphene nanoribbons is a key factor for obtaining a high-performance supramolecular spintronic device. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要:
In this paper, by considering the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect, we theoretically study the photonic spin Hall effect (SHE) in a three-layer structure composed of glass, metal, and air. It is revealed that the obtained spin-dependent splitting in photonic SHE is far greater than the previously reported results in refraction when the incident angle is near the resonant angle. The inherent physics behind this interesting phenomenon is attributed to the sharp decrease in Fresnel reflective coefficients around the SPR. We also find that there exists an optimal thickness for minimal resonant reflection, above which the huge beam displacement is also observed. These findings provide us a pathway for modulating the photonic SHE and open the possibility of developing nanophotonic applications such as the SPR-based sensor. © 2009-2012 IEEE.

Liquid electrolytes play an important role in commercial lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries as a conduit for Li-ion transfer between anodes and cathodes. It is generally believed that the Li-ions move along with the salt ions; thus, Li-ion diffusion is only affected by the viscosity and salt concentration in the liquid electrolytes based on the Stokes-Einstein equation. In this study, a novel and faster Li-ion diffusion mechanism in electrolytes containing a cyanogen group is identified from first-principles molecular dynamics (FPMD) simulations. In this mechanism, the Li-ions are first detached from the Li-salt and then diffuse along with the solvent molecules, and the Li-ion diffusion does not obey the traditional StokesEinstein equation. The ionic conductivity of the electrolyte systems with this solvent-assisted Li-ion diffusion mechanism is further enhanced through Li-ion hopping. This novel Li-ion diffusion process explains recent findings of high Li-ion conductivity in electrolytes with cyanogen groups and furnishes a new paradigm for the design of fast-charging liquid electrolyte for Li-ion batteries.

摘要:
We propose a method for generating double-ring-shaped vector beams. A step phase introduced by a spatial light modulator (SLM) first makes the incident laser beam have a nodal cycle. This phase is dynamic in nature because it depends on the optical length. Then a Pancharatnam-Berry phase (PBP) optical element is used to manipulate the local polarization of the optical field by modulating the geometric phase. The experimental results show that this scheme can effectively create double-ring-shaped vector beams. It provides much greater flexibility to manipulate the phase and polarization by simultaneously modulating the dynamic and the geometric phases. © 2016 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.

摘要:
The motion of two interactional solitons is investigated in nonlinear media with an exponential nonlocal response. A differential equation describing the motion trajectories of soliton center is proposed. Some numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the characteristics of the motion trajectories. The results show that the trajectories always oscillate periodically. However, if the two solitons are launched with a relative inclined angle which is larger than a critical value, they do not collide any more but diverge from each other. 摘要:
区间二型模糊控制器的降型算法需要使用迭代计算,是导致其解析结构推导困难的主要原因.针对乘积型区间二型模糊控制器,本文提出了一种新的解析结构推导方法.区间二型模糊控制器的配置为:三角形输入模糊集,一型输出模糊单值,集合中心法降型器,平均法解模糊器和基于乘积型“与”操作的规则前件.通过对比传统PID控制器的解析结构,证明了区间二型模糊控制器等效于两个PI(或PD)控制器之和.利用KM算法的迭代终止条件,提出了6步骤IC划分法,保证了激活子空间的正确划分.叠加各个子空间,即可得出全局IC划分图.为了避免重复求解符号数学方程,提出了IC边界线的直接定义法,改进了6步骤IC划分法的便利性.本文方法避开了降型算法的迭代计算,可以保证推导出区间二型模糊控制器的闭环解析表达式.

摘要:
The study of superconductivity arising from doping a Mott insulator has become a central issue in the area of superconductivity. Within the framework of the kinetic-energy-driven superconducting (SC) mechanism, we discuss the thermodynamic properties in the triangular-lattice cobaltate superconductors. It is shown that a sharp peak in the specific heat appears at the SC transition temperature
$$T_\mathrm{c}$$
, and then the specific heat varies exponentially as a function of temperature for temperatures
$$T<T_\mathrm{c}$$
due to the absence of d-wave gap nodes at the charge-carrier Fermi surface. In particular, the upper critical field follows qualitatively the Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer-type temperature dependence, and has the same dome-shaped doping dependence as
$$T_\mathrm{c}$$

By using nonequilibrium Green's functions in combination with the density functional theory, the spin transport properties of a single-molecule spintronic device are investigated. The computational results show that when the magnetic configuration of the device is set as parallel, the perfect spin-filtering effect can be observed. Especially, this perfect spin-filtering effect is independent of the number of carbon atoms in the carbon chain. However, when the magnetic configuration is set in antiparallel, the spin-filtering effect displays a strong odd-even oscillatory characteristic, namely, the spin-filtering efficiencies of odd-numbered chain systems have a higher values than even-numbered chain systems. Moreover, the magnetoresistance effect can also be observed in this single-molecule spintronic device. In contrast to the odd-even oscillatory characteristic of the spin-filtering effect in the antiparallel magnetic configuration, high magnetoresistance ratios belong to even-numbered chain systems while low magnetoresistance ratios belong to odd-numbered chain systems. The mechanisms are suggested for these interesting phenomena. © 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要:
We have investigated the nonlinear and ultrafast photonics of chemically processed black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) synthesized by the solvothermal treatment approach, with an average lateral size of about 2.48 $\pm$ 0.4 nm. BPQDs exhibit optical saturable absorption measured by the balanced twin-detector measurement system at the telecommunication band and have been demonstrated for the generation of passively mode-locking operation in an erbium-doped fiber laser. Either two-pulse or three-pulse bound state of soliton pulse has been obtained, making the best use of the BPQDs-based saturable absorber. Our work suggests that BPQDs might be developed as an efficient optical saturable absorber for ultrafast photonics applications. © 2016 IEEE.

摘要:
The photonic spin Hall effect (SHE) manifests itself as the spin-dependent splitting of light beam. Usually, it shows a symmetric spin-dependent splitting, i.e., the left- and right-handed circularly polarized components are equally separated in position and intensity for linear polarization incidence. In this paper, we theoretically propose an asymmetric spin-dependent splitting at an air-glass interface under the illumination of elliptical polarization beam and experimentally demonstrate it with the weak measurement method. The left- and right-handed circularly polarized components show expectedly unequal intensity distributions and unexpectedly different spin-dependent shifts. Remarkably, the asymmetric spin-dependent splitting can be modulated by adjusting the handedness of incident polarization. The inherent physics behind this interesting phenomenon is attributed to the additional spatial Imbert-Fedorov shift. These findings offer us potential methods for developing new spin-based nanophotonic applications. ©2016 Optical Society of America.

摘要:
Compact and miniaturized devices with flexible functionalities are always highly demanded in optical integrated systems. Plasmonic nanosieve has been successfully harnessed as an ultrathin flat platform for complex manipulation of light, including holography, vortex generation, and nonlinear processes. Compared with most of the reported single-functional devices, multifunctional nanosieves might find more complex and novel applications across nanophotonics, optics, and nanotechnology. Here, a promising roadmap for nanosieve-based helical devices is experimentally demonstrated, which achieves full manipulations of optical vortices, including its generation, hybridization, spatial multiplexing, focusing and nondiffraction propagation, etc., by controlling the geometric phase of spin light via over 121 thousands of spatially rotated nanosieves. Thanks to such spin-conversion nanosieve helical elements, it is no longer necessary to employ the conventional two-beam interferometric measurement to characterize optical vortices, while the interference can be realized natively without changing any parts of the current setup. The proposed strategy makes the far-field manipulations of optical orbital angular momentum within an ultrathin interface viable and bridges singular optics and integrated optics. In addition, it enables more unique extensibility and flexibility in versatile optical elements than traditional phase-accumulated helical optical devices. © 2016 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. 氡析出率的可靠测量是环境氡污染治理中的关键因素。活性炭吸附法和静电收集法是氡析出率测量的常用方法,活性炭吸附法适合于在温湿度相对稳定且氡析出率变化不太大的条件下使用,静电收集法能实现快速测量,但目前静电收集式测氡仪如RAD7需对测量的氡浓度进行数据修正才能得到氡析出率。为实现氡析出率的可靠测量,南华大学基于累积集氡和静电收集法测氡的方式研制了一种便携式氡析出率自动测量仪,该测量仪无需干燥管干燥取样的气体,减少了干燥剂对集氡罩内介质表面氡析出率的影响。在自然环境下,该测量仪能准确测量氡浓度,无需借助计算机进行线性拟合处理数据,由内置微处理器将线性拟合转化为代数运算后便能根据测量的氡浓度自动计算出氡析出率。实验表明,该氡析出率自动测量仪在氡析出率标准装置上的测量值与参考值的相对偏差在5%以内。测量完毕直接得出氡析出率,方便了现场氡析出率测量的需求。
