摘要:
We propose two feasible schemes for realizing hybrid Toffoli gates with dipole-induced transparency (DIT) effect in series and parallel cavity-waveguide systems. The gate operations are accomplished by encoding information on flying photon and dipole emitter evanescently coupled to the microcavity, and the spatial as well as polarization states of photon will be flipped conditional on the quantum states of dipole emitters. The schemes could be physically realized in one step and straightforwardly extended to realize the N-qubit Toffoli gate, which greatly simplifies the experimental implementation of Toffoli gate and promises a much higher fidelity compared to those based on elementary gate decomposition. Benefiting from DIT effect, the schemes can be achievable without requirement of strong coupling condition of cavity-waveguide system, and they are insensitive to experimental noises, imperfections and the phase delay of adjacent microcavities, which may be feasible with present accessible technology.

摘要:
We theoretically investigate the transparency effect with a hybrid system composed of a photonic molecule and dipole emitter. It is shown that the transparency effect incorporates both the coupled resonator-induced transparency (CRIT) effect and the dipole-induced transparency (DIT) effect. It is found that the superposed transparency windows are consistently narrower than the CRIT and DIT transparency windows. Benefiting from the superposed transparency effect, the photonic Faraday rotation effect could be realized in the photonic molecule system, which is useful for entanglement generation and quantum information processing.

摘要:
In this paper, the propagation properties of hollow Gaussian beams (HGBs) are discussed in detail when they are off-waist incident in strongly nonlocal media. A set of mathematic expressions are given to describe the evolutions of the beam intensity, the beam width, and the real beam radius. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate these propagation properties depended on the off-waist incidence. It is found that a HGB always periodically transforms its transverse patterns during propagation. Accordingly, the beam width and the real beam radius are also periodic during propagation.

Entanglement distillation plays a very important role in quantum information science. Distillation of high-purity Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) states has been widely studied. We here show that a pure GHZ-type entangled state or its local unitary (LU)-equivalent state could be extracted from two copies of a particular multipartite mixed state (e.g., an X state) in a single step. Such one-step distillation schemes for LU-equivalent states are expected to shed light on mixed-state manipulation and purification, as well as establish a link between entanglement classification and distillation.

The nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NNLSE) describes the propagation dynamics of optical beams in nonlinear media with a spatial nonlocal response. Based on NNLSE, we obtain the generalized sine hollow solitons and breathers and show that the transverse intensity evolutions of them are always periodical. However, if the incident power takes a critical value, the beam width can remain invariant during the propagation, just like the solitons. Otherwise, the beam width varies periodically, just like the breathers. We investigate the evolution characteristics for both cases analytically and numerically in detail.

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>We propose a mechanism of ground-state antiblockade of Rydberg atoms, which is then exploited to prepare two-atom entangled state via three different kinds of pulses. First we use the pulses in the form of sin<jats:sup>2</jats:sup> and cos<jats:sup>2</jats:sup> functions and obtain a maximally entangled state at an accurate interaction time. Then the method of stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) is adopted for the entanglement generation, which is immune to the fluctuations of revelent parameters but requires a long time. Finally we capitalize the advantages of the former two methods and employ shortcuts to adiabatic passage (STAP) to generate the maximal entanglement. The strictly numerical simulation reveals that the current scheme is robust against spontaneous emission of atoms due to the virtual excitation of Rydberg states, and all of the above methods favor a high fidelity with the present experimental technology.</jats:p>
